Action Alert:

1 in 4 women have an abortion. Is your church a safe place for people to share the grief they carry because of abortion? Many women, men, and children affected by abortion are suffering silently in our church pews. You can make it safer by sharing some of the post-abortion resources we’ve compiled. Please consider asking your pastor to post them in a visible place, feature them in the Sunday bulletin, and preach on the forgiveness and healing available. Read about the growing Pro-Grace Movement to help the church navigate a “third way” approach to unplanned pregnancies.

God’s Message comes from Jerusalem. He’ll settle things fairly between nations. He’ll make things right between many peoples. They’ll turn their swords into shovels, their spears into hoes. No more will nation fight nation; they won’t play war anymore. Come, family of Jacob, let’s live in the light of God.

Life and Peace

by Al Tizon

What does it mean to wage peace? How can we cultivate shalom in a violent world?

Boycott of Elections

In 2010, almost 50 years after the coup that brought it to power, the military junta in Burma announced “democratic” elections.  These came with more than several strings attached, however.  In order to participate, Aung San Suu Kyi’s party would, in effect, have to renounce her as their leader (as a convicted criminal, she would be barred from participating) and deny their 1990 electoral victory.  In the end, her movement decided to boycott elections, essentially dissolving itself as a political party, rather than participate in a rigged political process.
