Scripture on US Military Weapons?

On January 18th, ABC News reported that sights on guns used by the US military in Iraq and Afghanistan were inscribed by their manufacturer with Bible verses. That's right—high-powered weapons featuring semi-coded references to Christian scriptures like "2COR1:6" and "JN8:12." Protest led to the manufacturer offering to remove the references.
