Always on the lookout for innovative, daring, creative attempts by churches that desire to make a difference, I ran across the Liquid Church in New Jersey, which has implemented "reverse offerings." Instead of passing the plate for attendees to fill, ushers are passing out envelopes with money in them. The message behind the practice is that God trusts us, the redeemed community of faith, to point the way amid the nation's economic crisis. Read more.
